The Living Room is the epitome of serenity. This view highlights the large, tranquil Japanese painting which was acquired from the Japanese art gallery. The gold, gray, pale terra cotta and sage colors set the theme for the room. The gray mohair sofa is accented by the floral gold, gray and terra cotta velvet pillows with beaded trim. The two chairs in a geometric dotted gold on gray background complement the rug which is also gray and gold in a more linear geometric motif. The black of the cocktail table, the wood trim around the sofa and the feet of the chairs complement the black granite counter tops and balance with the black tree trunk in the painting. The tall rectangular floor lamp replicates a tree formation also.
